INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Urban League is hosting its annual Fall Career Fair on Wednesday.

The career fair will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Indianapolis Urban League, 777 Indiana Ave. and parking is free.

Organizers suggest you prepare your resume and dress professionally for the event.

About two dozen local businesses and organizations are expected to attend the fair, including IndyGo, UPS, and Wal-Mart. They will make offers today for opportunities in trades, skilled positions, teachers, classroom assistants, management positions, and even summer internships for 2024.

“The Indianapolis Urban League understands the importance of earning a livable wage and so we support those employers that are paying a livable wage because we all want our program participants to be economically self-sufficient,” Kimberly Simmons, executive vice president and chief programs officer for the Indianapolis Urban League, said Wednesday on Daybreak.

By partnering with these employers, Simmons says, it allows those in the community to be able to support their families, especially during the holidays.

The Indianapolis Urban League will gift attendees with a passport to visit all the employers and IUL Bucks that can be used to purchase lunch from local small businesses. IUL said they are committed to supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses.
