Fire destroys Plainfield auto dealership

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – A Friday afternoon fire destroyed a car dealership and closed Main Street for a couple of hours, Plainfield Fire Territory said. 

The fire was reported about 2 p.m. at Indy Auto Guru, 2750 E. Main St. That’s between Perry Road and Ronald Reagan Parkway on U.S. 40. An adjacent auto repair shop, Campfield’s Auto Repair, also suffered smoke and water damage, said Assistant Chief Brent Anderson.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews were continuing Friday to determine the cause of the fire.

Avon, Wayne Township, Decatur Township and Danville fire departments assisted in battling the blaze.
