Johnson County crash sends 1 to hospital with life-threatening injuries

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A Monday morning crash in Johnson County sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, crews responded to the area of State Road 37, just north of Stones Crossing Road around 4:50 a.m.

JCSO said the driver of the vehicle, who had to be extricated, was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the driver fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the vehicle leaving the road, striking several trees and catching fire.

He was sent to the hospital in critical condition.
