Motorcyclist killed during training course ride in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – One person is dead following a crash in Columbus Sunday afternoon, according to the Columbus Police Department.
The department says that around 12:30 p.m., officers were called to the Columbus Municipal Airport for a report of a crash.
Officers soon learned that a training course for new motorcyclist riders was being held when one of the riders, 66-year-old Carol McMurray, lost control of her 2020 Can Am Ryker as it went off the course and struck a metal storage container.
Police said McMurray was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital where she later died.
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
