WISH-TV, WIBC launch partnership

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – On Oct. 1, WISH-TV and 93.1 FM WIBC officially launched a newsgathering partnership.

WISH-TV and WIBC work together, sharing both content and coverage.

As part of the partnership, WIBC will allow WISH-TV access to their news stories, staff and hosts.

WISH-TV’s news, sports, traffic and weather forecasts will now be heard on 93.1. Also, WISH-TV’s 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. broadcast will now be heard in its entirety, Monday through Friday on WIBC.

“We are excited to partner with such an iconic radio news operation,” said Randy Ingram, WISH-TV vice president and general manager.  “Like WISH-TV, WIBC is a legacy news station which has been a staple in Central Indiana for decades.  While this relationship is a good for both of our newsrooms, it’s the local news consumers who will most benefit from these two premiere news organizations working together.”

“WIBC has a serious commitment to local news,” said Bob Richards, Emmis Indianapolis vice president and market manager.  “We are thrilled to work with a TV station that is equally passionate about local coverage.  This partnership is a natural.”
