Luke Perry’s death drawing awareness to strokes
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Luke Perry, gained fame from playing rebel named Dylan McKay on ” Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Perry died Monday after suffering a massive stroke. According to Perry’s publicist, he was 52.
News 8 visited the IU Health Neuroscience Center on Monday afternoon. We learned that strokes can strike at any age. They can also attack a person for a variety of reasons.
Here are few tips according to medical experts:
- Lower blood pressure.
- Lose weight.
- Exercise more.
- If you drink — do it in moderation.
- Treat atrial fibrillation.
- Treat diabetes.
- Quit smoking.
Warning signs of a stroke can be desrcribed using the acronym called FAST. The acronym stands for facial drooping, arm weakness, speech difficulties and time to call emergency services.
