Man in jail after driving 134 mph down I-65

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A man is in the Bartholomew County jail after police clocked his car at 134 mph on the interstate.

According to police, 21-year-old Demarcus Williams of Indianapolis was driving down I-65 SB around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning when an ISP officer noticed he was driving at 78 mph. He swerved in front of a semi and increased his speed to 134 mph.

Williams was stopped four miles later and was ordered from his vehicle. Once he exited the car, police found traces of cocaine on two sets of digital scales.

He was taken to Bartholomew County Jail and was charged with reckless driving and possession of cocaine. His bond is set at $14,500.
