Marion Co. Sheriff’s Office, IMPD investigate inmate death
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the death of an inmate.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, 27-year-old Nicholas Grant was found unresponsive in his cell just before 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14. A short time later, around 10:30 p.m, Grant was pronounced dead.
Deputies said early indications are that the death was not the result of violence or suicide.
Grant was in jail for charges of resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and criminal confinement.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office and the Marion County Forensic Services Agency are also assisting in the investigation.
