Masked threat targets Lafayette mayor
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette police are investigating what they call a masked threat that targeted Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski.
They say it was received by mail Monday at the Lafayette fire station on Vetereans Memorial Parkway.
It contained a letter with a photocopy of a newspaper clipping of a mayor in Poland who was recently stabbed while giving a public speech.
The back of the letter said, “Everybody loves Tony.”
There was no return address, and police are taking the threat seriously and working to figure out who may have sent the threat.
It is not considered a direct threat, but Lafayette police made Roswarski aware of what happened.
Anyone who may know something about the letter was asked to call Lafayette police at 765-807-1200.
