MDA, IFD to kick off Fill the Boot campaign
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Muscular Dystrophy Association will be hosting a fundraising event in partnership with Professional Firefighters Local 416 of the Indianapolis Fire Department on Tuesday, August 23.
The event will be the start of the organization’s annual Fill The Boot campaign to help children and adults who suffer from muscular dystrophy or ALS.
The event will be a “ribbon cutting” of sorts, where the first dollar will be dropped into a boot to launch the campaign heading into Labor Day. Speakers and families of those affected from muscle debilitating diseases will be present.
The department collected over $25,000 during last year’s fundraiser.
The event will take place at the Indianapolis Fire Department headquarters located at 955 Fort Wayne Avenue from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
