Mike Pence kicks off campaign rallies
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Mike Pence is conducting a statewide campaign tour over the next four days.
He calls it the Start Your Engines Tour and kicked it off at the Dallara factory in Speedway on Wednesday.
The Republican governor is traveling in a campaign bus along with Lieutenant Governor Eric Holcomb and a group of supporters.
He is delivering a message about the strength of the Indiana economy but he is also targeting the record of his opponent, Democrat John Gregg.
“Speaker John Gregg took Indiana from a $2 billion dollar surplus to $800 million in deficit,” he said. “Where we’ve cut taxes every year that I’ve been your governor, Speaker John Gregg voted to raise taxes.”
There were about a dozen protesters outside chanting “Pence must go!” and other slogans.
Meantime, John Gregg continues to maintain a low public profile. Look for him to step out in the next week or so.
