Mooresville vehicle pursuit ends in water rescue
MOORESVILLE,Ind. (WISH) – An early morning vehicle pursuit in Morgan County ended in a water rescue.
According to the Mooresville Police Department, the pursuit began due to reports of a drunk driver.
The pursuit began near Bridge Street and State Road 67 in Morgan County shortly after 4 a.m. this morning.
Police say the driver continued to evade police as they turned into a field off of Hadley Road and went into a pond.
The chase ended around 4:15 a.m.
The 47-year-old female driver, who was the only person in the car, was rescued.
She was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville to be checked for hypothermia and a head injury.
Police say she faces several preliminary traffic violation charges.
