NE Indiana man held after 2 women stabbed
ANGOLA, Ind. (AP/WANE) – Police say a northeastern Indiana man is being held on preliminary charges of murder and attempted murder following a double stabbing.
Steuben County Sheriff Tim Troyer says deputies responding to a domestic disturbance at a home late Saturday found one woman stabbed to death and another who was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital in critical condition. The names of the women weren’t immediately released, and the condition of the surviving woman was not clear Sunday.
Deputies arrested 49-year-old Jeffery Peppler of Angola. He was being held without bond in the Steuben County Jail, where records did not indicate whether he had an attorney.
Angola is 40 miles north of Fort Wayne.
