North side water main breaks in bitter cold
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Aging infrastructure and frigid temperatures are being blamed for a water main break on the north side of Indianapolis Thursday night.
It happened on Kessler Boulevard West Drive between Illinois and Meridian streets. Crews had to close the far east lane while they repaired the break.
A spokesperson for Citizens Water says the cold weather played a role in the incident. The main was installed in 1940.
Crews expected to have the break repaired by midnight.
