One arrested after vehicle takes off after hitting child
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested the driver of a vehicle who they say hit a child and then left the scene.
33-year-old Nancy Romero-Gonzalez surrendered herself to police Thursday afternoon. Romero-Gonzalez was arrested for failure to stop at a personal injury accident and operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.
It happened in the 700 block of North Belmont Avenue around 9 a.m.
According to IMPD, the 8-year-old was in good condition and suffered minor injuries from being hit.
