Police: Domestic situation leads to standoff
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A number of Fort Wayne Police Department units spent several hours responding to a standoff in a neighborhood near Rudisill Boulevard and Hanna Street on the city’s southeast side Sunday.
Police Spokesman Officer John Chambers said around 11:40 a.m. officers responded to a domestic situation in the 3700 block of Warsaw Street. Everyone in the house, with the exception of an armed man, exited the house when officers arrived, Chambers said.
The Crisis Response and Emergency Services Team spent the afternoon trying to get the man to come out of the house. Chambers said around 3:10 p.m. the man came out peacefully and was taken into custody.
Police taped off several blocks in the area during their investigation.
