Police identify man killed in Columbus I-65 crash
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Columbus police are investigating after a fatal single-vehicle crash on I-65 Saturday afternoon.
It happened around 2:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate at mile marker 66, according to police.
Police said 53-year-old Thomas Pickett of Brownstown died in the crash.
His pickup truck flipped into a drainage ditch after hydroplaning while driving north.
Good Samaritans managed to flip the truck over before emergency crews arrived, but Pickett was pronounced dead at the scene.
I-65 northbound was shut down for about 45 minutes as police investigated.
