Police: Intoxicated driver hits cop car while texting
KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) – A Kokomo man was arrested after police say he was intoxicated and texting while driving when he crashed into a police car.
Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Howard County Sheriff’s Department officials said 20-year-old Reyshon Holloway crashed into a sheriff’s department vehicle in the parking lot of Kokomo Manor Apartments. The crash caused the police vehicle to collide with a vehicle parked near it, and Holloway’s GMC Yukon then hit another vehicle. Four vehicles in total were damaged.
Howard County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Holloway on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana with intent to deal, resisting law enforcement and battery on a police officer. He was also cited for texting while driving and operating a vehicle without financial responsibility.
