Police searching for missing IU Bloomington student
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Police are searching for a missing Indiana University Bloomington student.
Family members say Joseph Smedley, a junior biochemistry student, went missing around 3 p.m. Monday.
Smedley’s sister, Vivianne Brown, told 24-Hour News 8 that he texted her to say he was leaving the country. She says she thought he was joking.
School officials said Smedley had missed class.
A tweet by IU Bloomington states Smedley is 20 years old, 5-foot 7-inches tall, weighs 145 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Police said he lives off campus.
