Police seek help in locating hit and run suspect

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving a hit and run.

On March 26, a driver struck Tayna Turman as she walked to a bus stop near the intersection of Bolton Avenue and Staughton Drive.

The driver kept going. The vehicle involved is believed to be a red 1992-1999 Chevrolet Tahoe or similar type of SUV.

Police released the graphic video in hopes to generate possible tips that will lead to the suspect’s arrest.

Turman is currently listed in critical condition.

Investigators are asking mechanics that did body work on any vehicle fitting the truck’s description to call 911.

“We can’t do it alone. We have said that time and time again. We have to rely on the public’s help,” said Officer Christopher Wilburn.

Anyone with any information in this investigation should contact Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS, or 262-8477.
