Police seek parental information on girls who lived with man

FEASTERVILLE, Pa. (AP) – Police are interviewing several of the 12 girls found living with a suburban Philadelphia man charged with sexually assaulting a teenager who authorities say had been given to him by her parents when she was 14.

Officials acting on a tip Thursday found 51-year-old Lee Kaplan at his Bucks County home alone with the girls, ranging in age from 6 months to 18 years. The 18-year-old told police she and Kaplan have two children, a 3-year-old and 6-month-old.

Lower Southampton Public Safety Director Robert Hoopes said detectives are trying to determine who is supposed to have custody of nine of the children. He said some of the children will be interviewed Monday.

Kaplan and the teenager’s parents are jailed on $1 million bail. Court records don’t list attorneys for them.
