Rain moves out as temperatures turn colder

Tuesday morning forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Our stretch of above-average temperatures will come to an end Tuesday night as colder air invades the Midwest.

Today:

Slow-moving cold front responsible for rain Monday is continuing to push through the region this morning, resulting in light showers early with some patchy fog. Expect improving conditions as we go through the late morning into the afternoon, with mainly cloudy conditions through the daytime hours.

Temperatures will likely hover in the upper 30s and lower 40s for much of the day.

Tonight:

Skies will quickly clear just after sunset, allowing for a free-fall of temperatures overnight. Expect lows to dip to the middle 20s across central Indiana.

Wednesday:

A bright but colder day across the state. Highs will top out in the middle 30s.

Lows Wednesday night likely fall to the upper teens, with wind chills in the upper single digits and lower teens.

8 day forecast:

Colder temperatures continue heading into Friday. We’ll see a rebound in temps heading into the weekend, with dry conditions on Saturday with highs in the mid 40s. A couple of systems move through early next week, providing rain chances Sunday and Monday.
