Reports: Officer has died after shooting in Kansas City, Kansas
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KSNT) – A Kansas City, Kansas police officer has died following a shooting Tuesday afternoon.
Reports out of Kansas City, Kansas say a KCK police officer was shot Tuesday afternoon according to KCK Police Chief Terry Zeigler.
According to a Tweet Tuesday by Zeigler an officer was shot in the 2200 block of Haskell.
Police tell KSHB-TV officers responded to shot fired at about 1:37 p.m. One person was taken into custody. As an officer pursued more suspect, more shots were fired and the officer was hit at 1:57.
KSHB-TV confirmed Tuesday that the officer has died from his injuries.
Police spokesman Cameron Morgan says the search continues for additional suspects.
No other details have been released at this time.
