Residents want answers after gunmen shoot women and children

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are looking for answers after an apartment shooting injured two women and three children on Sunday night.

Three gunmen stormed the apartment on the 5000 block of Wildflower Court just after 9:30 p.m.

Shots were fired with two women and three children suffering gunshot wounds.

According to police, the adult victims knew their attackers. Neighbors at the quiet subdivision were reluctant to talk.

“I seen the father today, I asked ‘is everyone okay?’ He said no,” said a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.

A spokesman for IMPD gave an update of the victims.

The 49-year-old woman victim is in critical condition. 23-year old woman is in stable condition. A 2-year old and the 5-year-old are in stable condition and the 4-year-old is in serious condition.

The motive for this crime is unknown at this time. However, this does not seem to be a random act of violence, and police believe the suspects known the victims.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the IMPD Homicide office at (317) 327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).

Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
