RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) — Richmond Community Schools announced they will be closing all schools cooperation-wide Wednesday due to smoke from Tuesday’s industrial fire.

According to a Facebook post, there will be no e-learning and all faculty and staff are encouraged to follow the shelter-in-place order given by the Wayne County Emergency Management Agency. Staff is also not required to work from home.

Ivy Tech Richmond Campus will be operating virtually Wednesday due to the fire. Benjamin Jones, a market specialist at Ivy Tech Community College advises students and staff to check IvyLearn or their emails for more information.

An evacuation order is in place within a half-mile radius. The City of Richmond is providing temporary shelter at Bethesda Worship Center and Oak Park Pentecostal Church.
