RLL Racing picks up central Indiana sponsor

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has a new sponsor: D-A Lubricant Co. of Boone County.

The last time D-A sponsored a racing team was 1958. They’re back with a new car but they stuck with their old black and yellow paint job.

RLL Racing is owned by Late Show legend David Letterman, businessman Mike Lanigan and former racer Bobby Rahal.

Behind the wheel: Bobby’s son Graham.

“This car’s going to be running in New Orleans and it looks pretty racy to me,” Graham Rahal said. “So I’m excited to get out there and see the real thing.”

For now, Rahal will only sport the black and yellow for the upcoming Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana but the D-A logo will remain on his car in other races as a multi-year sponsor.

Gisela Miller is President of D-A Lubricant. She says the partnership is more than just a business move.

“We hope we can offer Rahal some technology in terms of the oil and we hope we can help them win,” Miller said.

The Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana will be held April 10 to 12. Graham Rahal says he’s headed to New Orleans for some test runs this weekend.
