Suspect in 4 Georgia murders captured in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH/AP) — A man suspected of killing four people this week in Georgia was taken into custody Sunday on the east side of Indianapolis. 

Daylon Delon Gamble, 27, was wanted on four murder charges in connection to two separate shootings Thursday in the city of Rockmart that left four people dead and one person injured. Rockmart is about 45 miles northwest of Atlanta.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation tweeted early Friday that Gamble was armed and dangerous.

A GBI news release said 48-year-old Helen Rose Mitchell and 19-year-old Jaequnn Davis died at one home, and 24-year-old Arkeyla Perry and 26-year-old Dadrian Cummings died at another home several blocks away. Peerless Brown, 24, was injured at the home where Mitchell and Davis were killed. He was flown to an Atlanta hospital. His condition was unknown.

Gamble was taken into custody Sunday night by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, along with the U.S. Marshals and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
