Suspect in disappearance of 8-month-old makes court appearance
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The man considered a suspect in the case of missing 8-month-old Amiah Robertson was in court Thursday morning.
Robert Lyons, 20, is charged with forgery and theft.
Prosecutors say Lyons cashed two checks that returned fraudulently. Also, both checks had a phone number handwritten on them. The number belonged to Amiah Robertson’s babysitter, Jeanette Browning.
Authorities identified Lyons as a suspect in the Amiah Robertson homicide investigation and noted his relationship with Browning in charging documents from an unrelated theft and forgery case.
During his appearance Thursday, Lyons did not enter a plea. Lyons, who has posted bail, is expected to be released from jail later Thursday.
His next court appearance is scheduled for May 8.
Amiah Robertson has been missing since March.
