Taylor Swift donates 50K to help cancer patient fight ‘Bad Blood’
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Taylor Swift is making good, again by helping a young girl fight her battle with cancer.
This time Taylor Swift donated $50,000 to an 11-year-old who is battling leukemia.
The family of Naomi Oakes posted a Youtube video called “Naomi’s Bad Blood” hoping it would get Swift’s attention to have her share the hashtag TeamNaomi on her Instagram.
In the video she tells her story that she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The cancer has to be aggressively attacked, meaning she will miss seeing Swift’s concert on August 18.
Swift saw the video and took to the family’s GoFundMe page to donate $50,000 to go toward helping the girl fight her “Bad Blood.”
She said “To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I’m sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let’s focus on getting you feeling better. I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family.”
The family posted a follow up video to Youtube with Naomi reading a message from Swift herself rendering her speechless.
Naomi said her fight song is Swift’s song “Bad Blood.”
The family thanked Swift on their GoFundMe page saying “You’re an amazing caring person, and our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts.”
