Thursday storms bring potential flooding

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – All of central Indiana is under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms Thursday.

Severe weather threat is diminishing across most of the area.  Heavy rain with the potential for some flooding from Bloomington to Columbus and points south will be the main focus during the late night and overnight hours.

Rain activity is expected to stay below sever limits overnight. However, some gusty winds and hail could be associated with storms.

Flooding will remain a concern for areas south of Indianapolis as more rain – potentially heavy at times – will continue overnight and into Friday. The threat for thunderstorms should be minimal with cooler air returning Friday afternoon.

A flood watch is in effect for southern counties until 8pm Friday.
