Transit supporters, advocates to rally at Statehouse

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Supporters of the transit between Bloomington, Carmel and Muncie will rally the Statehouse on Thursday.

Hoosiers will share their stories about how the current resources are not meeting the transportation demands.

“The Indiana General Assembly should recognize transit as vital infrastructure that drives local economies, yields a strong return on investment and ultimately saves public dollars,” said Kim Irwin, executive director of Health by Design, which convenes the Indiana Citizens’ Alliance for Transit.

The event starts at 10:30 a.m. in the south end of the rotunda on the first floor.
