Turtles join David Barras on set

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Larry Battson with Wildlife Educational Services joined David Barras on 24-Hour News 8 at noon to talk about snapping turtles.

Battson says this is the time of the year that they are laying their eggs and a number of them get hit. He said many people have rescued the turtles, but he warns that people should be careful because they do bite.

Battson also brought an Alligator Snapper Turtle on set. The turtles are the largest freshwater turtle in the world. Some weigh around 300 pounds.
