Video: Greenwood flash mob marriage proposal

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — A marriage proposal Sunday afternoon involved the Greenwood Park Mall and about 50 of the soon-to-be bride and groom’s friends and family.

Jeff Smith and Alisha Turner, both of New Whiteland, have known each other for about a year.

On Sunday afternoon, Jeff coordinated with mall staff for “Marry You” by Bruno Mars to be played over the public address system.

Once the music began, Jeff and Alisha’s daughters started dancing in the food court. Friends and family, coordinated by Jeff ahead of time, joined in. In total, about 50 people were dancing in sync to the music amid the crowd of onlookers.

Alisha’s daughter managed to get her mom into the the mall without spoiling the surprise. Alisha arrived to the food court shortly before the music began.

After a couple minutes of dancing, the crowd parted and Jeff walked out. He got down on one knee with a bouquet of flowers in hand and popped the question.

Jeff said the creative idea was triggered after viewing similar proposals on the Internet, and he’s thankful to all the people who joined in to make it special, especially staff at the Greenwood  Park Mall.
