Walmart to be open all day Thanksgiving, Black Friday sales start at 6 p.m.

GREENWOOD, Ind (WISH) — Walmart announced its black Friday sale hot items. The retail giant will be open all day on Thanksgiving. It’s black Friday sale begins at 6:00pm.

It’s beginning to sound and look a lot like Christmas. At Walmart on County Line Road and Emerson Avenue in Greenwood, shelves are stocked with toys o’ plenty; from the traditional ones, to the very latest trends and the unique finds.

“Tons of great toys. We’ve talked a lot to our customers this year. We really heard that they want drones. They want TVs. We have a ton of toys that are going to be for sale,” said Ryan Curell, a Walmart spokesperson.

Walmart rolled back the prices on things like a talking Elmo doll, which retails for twice as much. And, of course, there are electronics.

“The kids want iPads and I want to get a new TV and stuff, XBox1,” said shopper, Travis Forey.

The big item is a 55 inch Phillips smart TV. It’ll go for almost $300 at Walmart, which is a nearly $200 discount.

“On our high in demand items like that, we’re going to have wrist bands. So, folks will be able to show up, get a wrist band. You’ll be able to walk around the store. Do some other shopping, then when the deals start at 6:00 that day, you’ll have two hours to come and get your item. Guaranteed to have it,” said Curell.

It’s one of the busiest shopping days of the year and it’s something Walmart has spent months preparing for.

“A lot of preparation goes into planning for this. Our associates are on the front line, delivering for our customers,” said Curell.

And for customers like Forey, they’re ready and waiting,”We plan on getting out about an hour before it starts and getting some pretty good shopping done. Getting there first.”

Walmart will begin its Cyber Monday sales on Friday.
