Weather causes area damage in Frankfort, flipped semis at Walmart

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WISH) — Officials have responded after severe weather has damaged a Frankfort Walmart.

It happened just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart located in the 2400 block of East Wabash Street.

The Frankfort Police Department confirmed the damages with a tweet.

The damage done to the Walmart caused it to close for the day.

Clinton County EMA Director Darrell Sanders confirmed to 24-Hour News 8 that two semi trucks flipped over in the parking lot, but that there were no injuries from the actual building damage.

The National Weather Service later determined that straight line winds between 80-85 MPH did the damage to the building and semis.

There have also been reports that the weather has caused damages at Frankfort First Church of the Nazarene, with a garage that has been blown apart and a steeple that has been bent over.
