West side fire station no longer open as shelter
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Firefighters on the west side of Indianapolis set up a shelter Tuesday morning for people impacted by the strong storms that moved through central Indiana.
According to the Wayne Township Fire Department, the shelter was at 5401 West Washington Street at Fire Station 82. It was open for several hours Tuesday morning, for people seeking assistance or shelter, but closed around 8:30 a.m.
Firefighters said any residents needing further assistance should contact the American Red Cross at 317-684-1441.
