WISH-TV to broadcast 500 Festival events

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – WISH-TV and The 500 Festival have announced a new partnership for several 500 Festival events. WISH-TV will be the official television broadcaster of the KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball, the 500 Festival Memorial Service, presented by Rolls-Royce, and the 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers Inc. The agreement continues the more than 25-year partnership between WISH-TV and the 500 Festival. Specific programming details will be announced prior to the events.

“For more than 25 years WISH-TV has been a proud partner of the 500 Festival. We’re proud to continue building upon our longstanding relationship,” said Les Vann, president and general manager, WISH-TV. “Our station is committed to bringing Central Indiana viewers the very best local programming and we’re confident they’ll love our coverage of these events.”

“WISH-TV has been an incredible partner for many, many years,” said president and CEO of the 500 Festival, Bob Bryant. “Together, we have a rich history of working closely to showcase Indianapolis during the month of May. We’re excited to build upon our solid foundation as we enter this new phase in our relationship.”

The partnership provides WISHTV with the official broadcasting rights to three 500 Festival Events:

The 500 Festival Memorial Service, presented by Rolls-Royce, pays tribute to the sacrifices made by Indiana men and women who perished while serving in the armed forces. The service will include the joint service color guard presentation of colors and performances by the Capital City Chorus and Indiana National Guard’s 38th Infantry Division Band. The 2015 Memorial Service will take place on the North steps of the Indiana War Memorial on Friday, May 22 at noon. As the official broadcaster of the 500 Festival Memorial Service, presented by Rolls-Royce, WISH-TV will provide a live broadcast of the event.

The KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball is race weekend’s most exclusive party, attracting celebrities and VIPs in town for race weekend. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 23. The red carpet arrivals at the KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball will be broadcast live by WISH-TV.

The 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers, Inc., is a time-honored Indiana tradition that brings together Indiana’s mayors, business leaders, race enthusiasts and the 500 Festival Princesses. Attendees will hear from dignitaries and racing legends, enjoy a traditional Hoosier breakfast and witness the crowning of the 500 Festival Queen. After breakfast, ticket holders will have the opportunity to drive their car around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s famed oval track before enjoying the day’s Indianapolis 500 qualifications. The 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers Inc., will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 8:30 a.m.
