Holtmann excited to guide Butler

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It may be the summer, but that doesn’t mean that Hinkle Fieldhouse is empty.

More than 200 kids are running up and down the court this week taking part in the Butler basketball camp hosted by head coach Chris Holtmann.

The Butler coach is coming off a fantastic season in his first year. He led Butler to the Round of 32 which landed him a new six-year contract extension.

Coach Holtmann said he couldn’t imagine being anywhere else after the success he experienced in his first year.

“Stability is important, I think, for our program. It’s important for our family. My wife and daughter and I couldn’t be happier about being here, and we’ve said that from day one. Its been welcomed with open arms,” Holtmann said. “Obviously this year was a really fun group to coach. We’re just excited about being a part of a terrific program, and we feel like we’re on the verge of continuing to do really special things.”
