Peyton and Edge receive Hall of Fame rings
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Gold jackets, bronze busts and now the bling — Peyton Manning and Edgerrin James finally have their rings.
“Yeah, it all comes full circle. Now you have the ring. Because, you know, a lot of times you see the guys and every time you always see that big ring on their hand. So, now we actually officially one of the guys,” said James.
“The fact that it’s here in Indianapolis and the fact that (we) get to kind of receive it together, it makes it really cool. It was certainly a special in August, but nothing quite like being in front of the stadium and the fans that you were drafted by,” said Manning.
Manning calls this the peak of his Pro Football Hall of Fame festivities.
Following their halftime honors, the duo gave an encore “thank you” speech to the members of Colts nation who joined their celebration.
“I just wanted to say thank you. And I appreciate my years here … just really saying thank you,” said James.
“Thank you. I mean, a lot of loyal fans here, you know. Edgerrin never had to go through a 3 and 13 season, you know? I mean, we weren’t very good until he got here. Let’s face it. Once he got here, things picked up quickly. So, it was a fun run. It was a fun time to play here,” said Manning.
