IndyCar drivers excited for fans to see first episode of ‘100 Days to Indy’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Thursday night was a big night for the NTT IndyCar Series as the new docuseries “100 Days to Indy” debuted on WISH-TV.

The six-part series will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the series leading up to this year’s Indianapolis 500. Chip Ganassi Racing driver Marcus Ericsson joined WISH-TV’s Andrew Chernoff for an exclusive interview about the docuseries.

“I saw the first episode and it’s amazing,” said Ericsson. “I think to get that sort of behind-the-scenes look on the series and us drivers I think is really cool.”

Ericsson is the defending Indy 500 champion and the current IndyCar leader in the points standings.

“I think people should tune in just to get to know the drivers a bit more and what’s happening the behind-the-scenes because there’s so many cool characters in this paddock,” said Ericsson.

Ericsson will be one of the drivers who is featured in the first episode of the show.

“They’re really going to enjoy the experience of getting to know who we are as individuals, and not just racing drivers, to see what it takes to be successful in IndyCar,” said Arrow McLaren driver and 2016 Indy 500 champion Alexander Rossi.

The show has definitely been a discussion around the IndyCar paddock.

“A lot of the guys here in the series that have seen it said the cut (first episode) was awesome,” said Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal.

The next episode of “100 Days to Indy” will air at 9 p.m. EST Thursday May 4 on WISH-TV.
