Mainly quiet weekend ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We have had a soggy Friday across much of the state with on and off rain and storms. Winds have also been at a light breeze throughout the day. Rain chances are set to taper off a bit as we go into our weekend.

Friday night: A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday afternoon for far east central Indiana.

Showers and storm chances will continue through sunset. Activity will mainly taper off by the overnight hours.

Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible before sunset for the southern half of the state. The primary threat is damaging winds. Any thunderstorm will have heavy rainfall and lightning. Localized flash flooding will continue to be a threat.

Lows will dip into the mid to upper 60s.

Saturday: Rain will be nowhere near as widespread for our Saturday as it was for Friday. We will track the chance for isolated showers through Saturday morning and afternoon before they diminish.

Highs will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Sunday: A similar day to Saturday is expected for our Sunday with mostly dry conditions. Isolated showers and storms will be possible in the afternoon hours.

Highs will remain slightly below average as we top out in the low 80s.

8 Day Forecast: As we go into the new workweek, a typical summer pattern will setup with near normal temperatures and some higher humidity values. The first half of next week will remain dry before we work in returning rain and storm chances later in the week with highs remaining near average.
