Total lunar eclipse visible in central Indiana Sunday night
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — If Hooiser don’t mind stepping out in frigid temperatures Sunday night, they may be able to catch a cool show in the sky.
The first full moon of 2019 will also bring with it a total lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, casting the moon in its shadow. This gives the Moon a “redish” tint, often refered to a “Blood Moon”
Look for a partial eclipse to begin around 10:34 pm. The total lunar eclipse begins at 11:41pm and peaks at 12:12am, Monday.
Skies should be clear enough around central Indiana for good visibility of the eclipse Sunday night.
The next total lunar eclipse visibile in central Indiana won’t happen until May 26, 2021
