Semi fire shuts part of I-69 in Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Part of Interstate 69 was expected to be closed for some time Tuesday morning in Delaware County after a semi caught fire.

Around 2 a.m., the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office posted to Twitter that the southbound lanes of I-69 near the 247 mile marker would be closed for the next three to five hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

Southbound traffic was being diverted off I-69 at Exit 255. Drivers were advised to avoid the area.

Police said no injuries were reported. The crash happened around 10 p.m. Monday.
