Fishers teen found competent to stand trial in homicide case
FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — A Fishers teen, accused of brutally murdering a 73-year-old man in 2014, has been found competent to stand trial.
An insanity defense had been filed for Maxwell Winkler. Winkler is accused of slashing the throat and shooting Henry Kim on Nov. 1 in Windemere Park.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office said Kim was shot three times – once in the cheek, once in the back and once in the left upper arm. He also suffered from a deep wound across the front of his neck.
Winkler is set to stand trial in Jan. 2016.
