Elkhart Co. prosecutor announces campaign for AG

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Curtis Hill hopes to become Indiana’s Attorney General next year.

Hill made a formal announcement of his campaign at the JW Marriott Monday. He’s the Elkhart County prosecutor and appeared along with dozens of fellow prosecutors who support his campaign.

Hill is seeking to become the first African American Republican to appear on a GOP statewide ticket.

“The extent of encouragement and support I have received has been nothing short of overwhelming,” he said. “In the past two weeks my campaign has raised in excess of $100,000 in financial contributions. For this I am deeply grateful.”

Other Republicans seeking the nomination include former Attorney General Steve Carter and State Senator Randy Head.

The nominee will be chosen in the State Republican Convention next summer.
