Pendleton Correctional officer arrested for inmate trafficking
PENDLETON, Ind. (WISH) — A Pendleton Correctional Facility officer was arrested Thursday for trafficking with an inmate, the facility announced Friday.
Tyler Wells, of Fortville, was arrested in the Meijer parking lot in Anderson.
Investigators say he was picking up a package that he planned to bring into the correctional facility for payment.
“I would like to thank the Indiana State Police and our Investigations and Intelligence staff for their collaborative effort to stop contraband from coming into our facility,” superintendent Wendy Knight said in a statement.
He was booked into the Madison County Jail on charges of trafficking with an inmate a controlled substance, a level 5 felony.
