Homeless veterans assistance group gets truckloads of supplies

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A group that helps veterans got some help of their own Saturday.

The Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation received truck loads of donations.

Blankets, gloves and hats were donated by a trucker group called Diesel Mafia.

HVAF told 24-Hour News 8 earlier this week that there is a huge need for supplies this time of year.

The group says when the weather gets cold they see more veterans.

According to the 2015 Point In Time Homeless Count, there are nearly 800 homeless vets across Indiana living on the streets any given night.
