Murdered Zionsville 4-year-old remembered as a ‘delight’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Raymond Giehll IV, the 4-year-old that was killed Wednesday morning, will be remembered as a delightful boy and student.

He had been attending Traders Point Christian Academy since August.

His school shared a short letter with the community after they found out about his death.

We have been informed that one of our 4 year-old students, Raymond Giehll, and his mother were found dead this morning in their home. He attended Mrs. Jane Evans’ 3’s class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. There is no earthly explanation for this but we can trust God even in the midst of this tragedy. Please join us in praying for Mr. Giehll, the extended family, and our EC staff as they process through an incredibly difficult time.

Ron Evans, head of school at Traders Point, said Giehll was loved by both his classmates and his teachers.

Evans’ wife was Giehll’s teacher.

“He was a delightful young man. he enjoyed being there everyday. It’s still hard for us to believe it actually happened, frankly. So we’re a little bit numb and shocked more than anything else,” Ron Evans said.

Evans said he’s been reaching out to Traders Point families with advice on how to talk to their kids about this tragedy.

He’s encouraging them to meet tomorrow morning at the school right next to Raymond’s classroom. There will be counselors there to help.
