Bus driver arrested for sexual misconduct with student
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A Tippecanoe School Corporation bus driver has been arrested on a preliminary charge of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Tracy Konsdorf, 47, was arrested Monday evening at her Tippecanoe County home.
Sheriff’s deputies began investigating after a report of inappropriate conduct involving Konsdorf and a student. Investigators said the child is a 14 to 16-year-old student who rides Konsdorf’s bus.
Konsdorf is currently in the Tippecanoe County Jail and being held without bond. The charge of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor is a Level 5 felony.
TSC officials tell WLFI that Konsdorf had been with the district since 2006. The district became aware of suspicious activity and informed deputies. Konsdorf was placed on leave Monday. Her employment was terminated Tuesday based on the investigation.
Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback released a written statement to News 18:
“The safety and security of our students is very important to us and paramount to our educational mission. We value the trust our community places in our staff, so any time that trust is broken by one individual it is disappointing and should not reflect negatively on the hundreds of other employees doing their jobs appropriately each and every day.”
