Senior fulfills lifelong dream for one day
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Two Greater Lafayette establishments recently helped a senior achieve her dream of becoming a zookeeper.
During trips to the Columbian Park Zoo, team members from Cumberland Pointe Health Campus noticed one of their residents, Mary, expressing a deep interest in the exotic animals.
Officials with the health campus teamed up with the zoo and allowed Mary to become zookeeper for a day.
Mary completed multiple tasks during her special day. She fed and tended to many animals such as a snake named Blue, a porcupine named Polk and a tortoise named Shiloh.
Zookeepers presented Mary with parting gifts and a thank-you note at the end of the day.
